Remarks (Bemerkungen)
The AS 532U2/A2 Cougar Mk.II and civil AS 332L2 are extensively updated versions of the original Super Puma/Cougar family. The main differences include:
  • glass cockpit with four CRTs
  • Spheriflex main and tail rotor hubs without lubricated bearings
  • new rotor, featuring parabolic tips with anhedral section
  • reinforced central structure
  • lengthened cabin (0,55 m), increasing troop capacity to 29
  • HUMS (Health and Usage Monitoring System)
First Mk.II development vehicle flew February 6, 1987, with French certification following in April 1992. First delivery August 1993.
