History (Geschichte) The LongRanger IV was announced on 22 March 1992 at the Heli-Expo convention in Las Vegas as the new standard of the widely used light helicopter. By that time, flight testing was "well under way" at the Bell Flight Research Center in Arlington, Texas. Transport Canada and FAA certification was achieved in October and deliveries started in December.
