Remarks (Bemerkungen)
The Citation Ultra Encore is a straight upgrade of the Citation Ultra, which was introduced in 1994. Main changes include
  • new, more efficient engines. The Pratt & Whitney PW535A will offer a 15 per cent specific fuel consumption improvement on the JT15D-5Ds in the Ultra
  • trailing link landing gear, to allow smoother landing and taxi
  • more full-fuel payload
  • updated interior
  • improved systems, including a digital pressurization control
  • engine bleed-air wing leading-edge de-icing
  • improved maintainability
  • standard avionics package is the Honeywell Primus 1000, including 8 x 7 inch Primary Flight display, 8 x 7 inch Multi Function Display and centally located Flight Director control.
The Ultra Encore was unveiled at the NBAA Convention in Las Vegas in October 1998. The first flight of a prototype had already occured in secrecy on July 9, 1998 at Wichita, so that type certification can be achieved in the fourth quarter of 1999. First deliveries are scheduled for the second quarter of 2000. The Ultra Encore will then supplant the Ultra on the production line.
