Tecnam P2006T Flying!
13. 9. 2007 -- The first official flight of the light twin-engine Tecnam P2006T was completed successfully from the Capua airport with pilots Canetto and De Blasio.
Changes in the certification process along with meticulous testing have extended the timeline for the certification of the aircraft. Prior to issuing an EASA Permit to fly EASA has introduced stringent new rules that put this aircraft through a demanding testing including an almost complete static and structural testing.
Although the aircraft will continue to undergo extensive flight testing, the flights to date have confirmed the excellent flight characteristics of the aircraft, both in terms of ease of flying and performance. Those familiar with the handling characteristics of all Tecnam aircraft will find the P2006T maintains the same superior flight characteristics and overall fly-ability.
The most notable performances to date are the short take-off and landing distances, as well as the cruise and climb performance. The P2006T utilized two 98 hp Rotax 912S engines that are robust and economical.
This is a unique aircraft in the current aviation market. It is appropriate for personal use and commercial applications as well as for use in flight schools. The low fuel consumption and high reliability along with the flexibility of fuel options, AutoGas and 100LL, make this aircraft extremely attractive from an economic point of view and will provide the opportunity for higher utilization and profitability for any commercial application.
