Competition (Konkurrenz) Adam Aircraft A700 Cessna Citation Mustang Eclipse 500 Safire Jet Remarks (Bemerkungen) The ProJet is billed as a next generation jet designed specifically for the requirements of the air-taxi and fractional operator markets, with yearly utilisation rates of 1500 to 2000 hours. It is to feature the latest developments in engine, avionics and manufacturing developments, though the look is fairly conventional. Avocets strategy is to use Israel Aircraft Industries as an experienced developer and builder, delivering airframes for assembly and outfitting in North America. Avocet was founded by a group of aerospace industry investment bankers and a team of leading aviation industry executives. Financing through to production was not in place in August 2003, when the programme was announced. History (Geschichte) Avocet started its ProJet project in mid 2002, working with IAI. Then, on 4 August 2003, Avocet Aircraft and Israel Aircraft Industries signed a formal agreement to jointly investigate the development and marketing of the ProJet. The aim was to have the aircraft defined by October 2003. On 6 October 2003, Avocet Aircraft announced its NBAA Convention Double Your Money promotion, a program that doubles the value of owner/operator pre-order deposits. Also during the Orlande meeting, UltraJet, LLC, the Private Jet Membership company of Jet Partners LLC, announced it has entered into an agreement with Avocet Aircraft LLC to purchase 100 Avocet ProJet airplanes. An official programme launch is planned for late 2003. At that time, the company plans to take confirmed orders.
