The IDS (interdictor-strike) version of Tornado is in service with the Royal Air Force, Luftwaffe (Germany), Italian Air Force and Royal Saudi Air Force.

Remarks (Bemerkungen)
Deliveries of a further 48 Tornados to the Royal Saudi Air Force start in the autumn of 1996, to bring total IDS production to 780 (plus 15 prototype/pre-series aircraft). Mid-life update programmes are considered or already under way in most of the customer countries.
